Epic Data MPT9100 This touch-screen terminal was created for automated data collection in manufacturing environments. With hands-free, two-way voice communication, you can connect with other users over an Ethernet connection. Users can send visual displays from their terminals to an external visual device (using standard SVGA output). Epic Data claims subsecond response time lets you use the MPT9100 independent of your network. Auto-identification features can include barcode wands and scanners, an integrated RFID proximity badge reader, a magnetic stripe or barcode badge reader, and others.

Hummingbird Enterprise 5.1 The most significant change in Hummingbird's information management system is the move from the two-tier client/server environment to a multitiered architecture. Two other enhancements added to the suite are integration with Microsoft Outlook and the ability to drag and drop messages or email attachments directly into the Hummingbird DM respository.

Tamino XML Server 4.1.4 Software AG has created a plug-in component that enables its Tamino XML Server to search non-XML documents. The indexing tool, called Non-XML Indexer, retrieves metadata from Word and StarOffice documents, and it can create indexes for OpenOffice, plain-text, MP3, RTF, and ZIP formatted files.
Actional Looking Glass SOA Planner Web services management software maker Actional now offers a data retrieval and analysis tool for Web service networks. The Looking Glass SOA Planner operates in conjunction with the company's server console.
